Overview

BraceLife ("we", "our", "us") is an all-in-one Android utility application developed by BraceCoder. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use BraceLife, which includes the following modules:

Privacy-first design: The vast majority of BraceLife's features work entirely offline. Calculations, conversions, history, and AI inference happen on your device. Data is not sent to our servers unless you explicitly create an account.

02

Data We Collect

Tool History & Usage Statistics Local Only

BraceLife saves calculation results, QR scans, and other tool outputs locally on your device using a SQLite database (Room). Tool usage statistics (number of opens, time spent per tool) are also stored locally. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup via an account.

Clipboard History Local Only

The Clipboard Manager reads and stores clipboard entries locally in the app's private database. Clipboard data is never transmitted to any server.

Smart Planner Data Local Only

Tasks, goals, and project information you enter into the Smart Planner are stored locally on your device.

AI Training Data Local Only

Text or knowledge you provide to the AI Trainer (for hybrid chat) is stored locally in the app's private storage directory. No training data is sent to remote servers. AI inference runs entirely on-device.

Device Test Results Local Only

Hardware test results (sensor readings, benchmark scores) are stored locally in a device history database and are never uploaded.

Account Information Cloud

If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. This information is stored on our servers (api.bracecoder.in) and is used solely for authentication and account identification. Account creation is entirely optional — all core features work without an account.

Network Requests Network

Certain features require network access: live currency exchange rates (Currency Converter), media streaming downloads (M3u8 Downloader & Social Downloader), WhatsApp sticker downloads, the in-app browser, and ad delivery. These requests are made only when you use those specific features.

Advertising Data Third-Party

Google AdMob collects advertising identifiers and usage signals to serve personalized ads. See the Advertising section for details.

03

App Permissions

BraceLife requests only the permissions required by specific features. Below is a full explanation of each permission used and the feature that needs it.

INTERNET
Required for currency rates, media downloads, social downloader, in-app browser, ad delivery, and optional account sync.
CAMERA
Used exclusively by the QR/Barcode Scanner to access the camera viewfinder for scanning. Camera data is processed on-device and never stored or uploaded.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO
Required by the Status Saver (reads WhatsApp/Telegram statuses), Image Converter, Collage Maker, Background Remover, EXIF Viewer, and PDF image tools. Only files you explicitly select are processed.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Legacy storage permissions used on Android 12 and below for file reading and saving. Replaced by scoped storage and media permissions on Android 13+.
MANAGE_MEDIA
Allows the Media Tools module to modify or delete media files (e.g. batch image conversion output) without requiring individual confirmation for each file.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Displays progress notifications for the Download Manager and alerts for the Fake Call scheduler.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE
Keeps the Download Manager running in the foreground while files are being downloaded so downloads are not interrupted when you switch apps.
CALL_PHONE
Used by the Unsaved Dialer feature, which lets you call a number without saving it as a contact. The app initiates the call only when you explicitly tap the dial button.
READ_PHONE_STATE
Required by the Razorpay payment SDK for device fingerprinting and fraud prevention during payment transactions (WA sticker credit purchases).
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM
USE_EXACT_ALARM
Required by the Fake Call feature to schedule a simulated incoming call at an exact time you specify.
WAKE_LOCK
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT
Allows the Fake Call screen to appear over the lock screen and wake the device at the scheduled time, mimicking a real incoming call.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Reschedules pending Fake Call alarms after the device restarts so scheduled fake calls are not lost.
RECORD_AUDIO
Used only by the Device Test module's microphone test, which records a short audio sample to verify the microphone works. No audio is stored or uploaded.
BLUETOOTH
BLUETOOTH_CONNECT
Used by the Device Test module to display Bluetooth adapter information (name, address, state). No pairing or data exchange occurs.
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
Required by the App Usage screen in the System & Network module to display how long each installed app has been used. This is a protected permission that the user must grant manually through system settings. Usage data is only read and displayed; it is never transmitted.
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
CHANGE_WIFI_STATE
Used by the WiFi Analyzer to read nearby Wi-Fi networks, signal strengths, and channel information for diagnostic purposes.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
Android 10+ requires location permission to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks. The permission is used solely for the WiFi Analyzer. Your precise location is not stored or used for any other purpose.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used to check network connectivity before making online requests (e.g. currency converter, social downloader).
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
Required by the App Info Viewer and Running Processes screens to display a list of all installed applications on the device. No app data is transmitted.
VIBRATE
Used for haptic feedback during the Fake Call experience and device vibration tests in the Device Test module.

Advertising

BraceLife displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Ads help keep the app free for everyone.

What AdMob may collect: Advertising ID (GAID), device information, IP address, app interaction events, and general location (inferred from IP). This data is used by Google to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

Note: Even if you opt out of personalized ads, you will still see non-personalized ads. Opting out reduces the relevance of ads shown but does not remove ads from the app.

Ads are displayed on most tool screens and the home screen. Ads load only when your device has an active internet connection.

👤
06

Account & Cloud Sync

BraceLife offers an optional account system. Account creation is not required to use the app.

What we store when you create an account Cloud

Your email address and chosen display name. Passwords are not stored — authentication is handled via a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your email. Your account data is stored on BraceCoder servers hosted at api.bracecoder.in.

What we do NOT collect Never

We do not collect your phone number, physical address, real name, contacts, call logs, or any sensitive personal information beyond your email and display name.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon deletion, all account data stored on our servers is permanently removed.

💳
07

Payments

Certain premium features (such as WhatsApp sticker pack downloads) require purchasing credits via Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.

🧠
08

On-Device AI

BraceLife's AI Models module runs large language models (Gemma 3 1B, Phi-2) and image models (MobileNetV3, EfficientNet-Lite4) entirely on your device using Google MediaPipe / LiteRT.

Your prompts and responses never leave your device. There is no API call to any AI cloud service when you use on-device models. The AI processes your input locally using the downloaded model file.
🔁
09

Data Sharing

BraceLife does not sell your personal data to any third party. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

We do not share your calculation history, clipboard contents, AI conversations, planner data, or device test results with anyone — they stay on your device.
🛡
10

Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information:

While we implement these safeguards, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

👶
11

Children's Privacy

BraceLife is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information (e.g. registered an account), please contact us immediately at the email address below. We will promptly delete any such information from our servers.

Google AdMob is configured to serve non-personalized ads in compliance with COPPA if a child user is detected.
